Most likely a bad cable

Hi Larry, problem is most likely in the cable or the cable ends.
You use a multimeter to test continuity. Test the cable by disconnecting it from the motor. Sometimes the problem is a broken wire that can be seen after you dig the putty out of the terminal well on the motor.
