Dolphin won't respond to remote

Just opened my pool this year and put in the Dolphin. Let it run for awhile. Changed the bag and then attempted to run it by remote and it would not respond. Changed the batteries and still did not respond. Any suggestion???

Orsymco, I just had the same experience and it turned out the seal on the power feed through to the motor unit had leaked over time and one of the terminal connectors corroded through. The result was an open circuit on the power to the motor unit. $11 for connector rebuild kit fixed the issue. Good luck!

Check batteries first of all. That's sort of a cheap easy way to do it. Be near the power supply, that's where the receiver is for the unit. The unit itself does not contain an antenna to take the remote control frequency.


Note::: the following is for older models with non digital power supply. Units should be the same regardless.


Next is to open he bottom of the power supply (while unplugged) and check the coil for the antenna. It'll usually be a white wire that is spirally wound in a rainbow type arch over the transformer. Make sure it is connected to a smal circuit board near the rectifier bridge (square black chip mounded to the bottom heatsink of the psu) and intact in one solid gland fluid piece. Otherwise this issue your issue.


Should everything be good there is a high chance of a discontinuous wire in the main cord running to your unit.
