Motor Shaft Pin Removal

Aquabot Motor Pin

Aquabot Motor Pin

This is a series of e-mails to remove and replace a broken drive shaft pin.

Original Question
I have an older Aquabot turbo - it looks like the spiral pin broke off the end of the drive shaft. I have another non- working aquabot with a spiral pin but I can't get it out! Any tips on how to do this? Also any suggestions on how to get the broken part out of the drive shaft of the Turbo? I've tried tapping it out with no success.

My Reply
Hi, You can try drilling the broken one out with a 1/8 inch drill bit, then tap again with a punch.

Reader Update
Thank you so much for your response. The drilling worked like a charm.
