Spending to much time on walls

Our pool is small 24'x12'x7'deep, the aquabot spends to much time cleaning the walls of the pool. I am finding that the ink on the vinyl wall is coming off. Does anyone know how to reverse the motor faster ? does it have a timer to set ? Is the motor ac or dc? It only takes the aquabot 2 minutes to reach each side, but will spend 5 mins on the walls, If i could only change direction every 3 mins i could save the ink on the pool walls. IF anyone has a idea please let me know, Thanks ,, Russ
