Aquabot T4RC, tracks drive in opposite directions

My Aquabot T4RC came with my home. After about a month, when you turn it on, it goes forward about 4 inches and stops and then spins in circles. Not 5 foot circles, it spins like a ballerina. The tank like tracks are spinning in opposite directions causing it to do this. I don't want to spend almost $2000 to replace it. The closest dealer is 2 hours away and is telling, without looking at it, that I need to buy a new one. They also told me they will charge me almost $500 just to tell me whats wrong.
