Dolphin Diagnostic Easy Repair

by Jeff Hobart
(Hollis Maine)

I brought my cleaner out a few weeks ago after being stored since last fall. I put it in my pool and it went a little forward and back and stopped moving. I pulled the side covers and found no problems. I did live chat with Maytronics and explained the yellow impeller would not go and it was stuck. I did the upside down test with machine on a bench and it cycled and again I said the impeller would not run. The end result was send machine in. Maybe it will need a new sealed motor. (approx $540. plus 2 way shipping).
At this point I was ready to buy a new one. It lasted five years and had been great. I decided to give it one last shot and put pressure on the impeller because I had nothing to lose. I gently began twisting it back and forth and it worked free and is working perfect. Be gentle when twisting it back and forth so you don't break it. I bet this would fix lots of these machines
