Blown fuse
by: curt

Hi, there are many pages devoted to blown fuses. Do a site search to find them.
More specifically, a broken wire in the cable will create a short that blows the fuse. If you disconnected the cable from the power suppy box and the fuse blew, then there must be an internal short in either the timer, fuse socket or switch. Those are the most likely culprits.
