With aquabot out of water turn on for a few seconds. See if everything turns like it should. Make sure c clips are on. I had a few teeth missing on drive belt which caused mine to stay in deep end. Also make sure plug wire has all kinks out

I've had my aqua bot jr for a year and it won't clean the shallow end very well anymore

The only time my machine stays in the deep end is when the bag is very dirty.

Try running the machine without a bag and see what happens.
