Aquabot Elite pump motor works for few seconds then stops

Hello,
Trying to see if anyone can help me out.
I got an Aquabot Elite RC, probably 3-4 years old.
The motor that is at the top that moves the water turns On for a second as soon as I turn on the cycle then stops and after about 30 seconds it goes On and Off intermittently for a split second.

What could it be? I would think that if it was a bad motor it wouldn't go On at all.
