Aquabot Turbo Jet stops working when submerged

My Aquabot is about 4 years old. It comes on just fine and the motor runs outside and when it just enters the pool, and the transformer cycles normally. Once submerged and taking on water, the robot stops working and the transformer blinks "--". What's getting wet to make it do that? And what should I replace?
ADMIN REPLY: The first item I would look at is the cable. There may be a broken wire that breaks contact when a certain position is reached. While submerged, move the cord near the robot to a position that worked out of water.
If this is not the problem then the robot needs to go to a shop to test the power supply and pump.
