come on maytronics, sell motor parts

i have owned a Dolphin for ten years just about and they are the best pool cleaner i have seen. With any mechanical item out there you sometimes run into problems. I have disassembled my unit several times for repair on the motors. If you need parts you have to buy a used one on ebay and hope the part you need is still good. I have a shit load of parts and repairing it is simple if you know what your doing. Its ashame that Maytronics will not assist you in getting the motor parts because they want to charge you for a simple repair...CMON man, sell motor parts as well, including the circuit board. If anyone has a problem they would like to discuss with me, please email me at David5745@sbcglobal.net and i will gladly answer any questions. If your dolphin goes down call on me before you send your out of warranty unit in for repair. i can help

Motor compartmant getting water inside
by: Anonymous

I had my first dolphin for a few years when it stopped working on me. I would turn it on and it would run for about 5 seconds going forward and backward then stop. I took it apart and opened the sealed motor compartment, which was vacuum sealed, and water came pouring out. I dried it all out and put it back together and it just did it again. Maytronics told me that after you open that sealed motor it is no good anymore. Mine was out of warranty anyways, of course. So I paid the $400 for a new motor and installed it myself. Now after about 2 years my system will not even turn on. Very frustrating as these machines are very expensive. It would be nice if they sold cheaper parts since they have so many problems.

Motor Parts

Good Morning, The motors for the older Diagnostic machines are reccomended not to be fixed because they are sealed and pressurized from the factory. However there are newer models that will have a motor that is component repairable which will make repairs cost less if and when needed.
