R38 Burned 2410073LF Rev 01 Control Board

by Dan
(Savannah, GA)

The R38 resistor on the control noted in the subject is burned out.

1. The unit is 5 years old. What causes this resistor to burn out?

2. What is the resistance and wattage of the resistor. I can not make out the colors due to the burning on the resistor case?

3. Based on some other write ups on burned out resistors on these PC boards, I believe this is either an 18 Ohm or a 0.1 Ohm resistor.

Please provide me with some assistance.

Thank you!

Dan

Does anyone have information on what models/motors these fit by rev #? Will an 2410073LF-rev 2 work for rev1 or rev 5 for rev 1 or 2? Someone told me each rev # had a different program.

If that resistor is burned, you can be sure that some transistor is burned too.

R38 keeps burning out on 24100075LF board
by: Rolf

Does anyone know what causes R38 to burn out on the 2410075LF diagnostic board. I’ve replaced it and it burns out as soon as I apply power to the board. The unit is a 6 year old Dolphin Supreme M4. Any help greatly appreciated!

F1 Fusible resistor burned
by: Gerard (The Netherlands)

Hello,
Does any of you still have a picture of the PCB
2410073LF
This fusible resistor F1 is burned so I can not determine the colours, I assume it must be a low resitance, say 0.1 ohm
Many thanks.

R38

Any fixes yet? I tried the previously mentioned resistor (18ohms, 1%, 1/4 watt) but it burnt as soon as power was applied.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kenny

R38 value 2410074LF REV 03
by: Andy

Hi there, I have a slightly different board number which has an R38 resistor that is unreadable. It appears to be the only component damaged by a lightning strike.

Issue is that I have replaced this with an 18ohm 1W resistor and it burnt straight away - without any of the motors connected...

Wondering if the wattage of this resistor should be increased??

Appreciate any thoughts out there!

Cheers, Andrew

The R38 resistor value is 18 ohms, 1% tolerance and 1/4 watts. The color stripes are Brown, Gray, Black, Gold, Brown.
Puzzle solved!

R38 Resistor Value

Dom,
The picture of the board is too large to post from my iPad.
I will try again from my iPhone.
Send me a picture of your board if you can.
What is the number on the back of your board?
Do you have an R38 Resistor on it?
If so, what are the colors.
Thanks!
Dan

Resistor

If you can post a picture that would be extremely helpful, I can check my burned board as well. Many things can happen as to why it burns.

If you're interested in selling the burned board in looking for one :) accidentally got water in mine.
