The filter bag for Maytronics will filter about 30 microns however most silt is much finer and won't be trapped by the bag

I'm having the same problem. Has worked fine for 4 years. Will pick up leaves but is blowing the fine soot out the top. Both bags doing it so bought a brand new bag. Same thing. And yes it's on correctly!! Getting tired of hearing it's a tear in the bag or it's not on correctly!!

Mine is brand new, no hole in filter cartridge, it blows debri right out the top instead of sucking it up. Any ideas? Also will not pick up dead algea, just blows it out the top. Pretty disappointed at this point, I read zillionsk of reviews and never read one thing about this at all. I've tried both filter cartridges that came with it.
