Can U Help?
by: Thehobe

DePear:
Can you shed some light on all of the PC boards that have damaged or blown up resistors, specifically R31, R43, and R14. Is there a common fault here?
Does the 470uF capacitor fail due to too high a ripple current during operation? (I have not checked this capacitor but think it could be a problem with aging.)
And lastly, D12. I assume this is more than a diode because putting a diode across a DC motor driven both ways is a no-no. What is it?

I appreciate any information you can give to satisfy some very disappointed Maytronics customers.

Support for parts

Do you have any source for internal PC boards for the motor unit? There are so many dead Maytronics robots used occasionally but well past their warranty period. I have a rev 3 board but I see their are many newer PC board designs with possibly more reliable motor drives. I have only run my Dolphin Diagnostic for 50-100 cycles total!
