Help please!! Filter light won’t shut off!

This is our 2nd summer with an inground pool (we bought the house over a year ago and it had it! Last summer everything was perfect!!) and so far everything has gone bad!! First our filter shot DE into the pool (got that fixed) and now as we try and vacuum all the settled sand and DE...the Dolphin M400’we bought from the previous pool/home owners (which worked beautifully all last summer) doesn’t seem to be working!!! It seems to suck a little up/in but the rest is just being pushed about. We’ve tried switching the filters in it...switched them bCk...and the whole time the “filter full” light has been on!!
NO! They’re not full and YES we have hit the reset button...but no luck. I am desperate for some help!! Please!!

Buy a Tiger Shark - I had one for 10 years and loved every minute of it - needed a new one and pool company that we use swore by the dolphin. Worst purchase of our lives. Used in for 3 weeks last year and this year it doesn’t work. Buying a Tiger Shark soon.....

DE will collect in the bag and reduce the flow of water through it. That may be why your light is illuminated
