longer power supply or extension cord?

hi guys,

Just purchased a dolphin oasis z5 and set it up. So far working like a charm. However, it is just a few feet short of reaching the other side of the pool bc the power supply is inside of a pool house. Short of hiring an electrician to fit an outside outlet (or repair the one that doesn't work), I'm wondering why the manual says "do not use an extension cable in an case whatsoever". Also, wondering if I can't use an extension cord, if there is a longer power supply cord than the one provided. I just need like two more feet to reach the end and of course that's the end where the maple is dropping all its leaves. Thanks for any advice.

Yeah that's a load of Caca... use a quality extension cord and you'll be fine. Especially if the outlet if GFI equipped. (ground fault interrupt equipped).

This is coming from an electrical engineer. Just make sure it's a good 3 prong cord with a dedicated ground.
