Push button lights up 2 sec. Then off

by Mike Fowler
(Baltimore, MD)

The robot gets an impulse because the propeller starts to spin a little. But no other signs of life... We examined robot for stuck treds, all good. I measured 63.2 volts a.c. and 29 volts dc from power supply. The power stays on if we unplug the robot, but if it's plugged in it shuts off. Measuring robot - 500ohms in one direction. If I switch leads it reads infinite. Anyone know what these should be?

Shorted cable
by: Dom Landowski

Most likely a short in the cable.

Any twists or kinks on your cable? That's most likely where it's at.

Or in an unlikely and very unlucky event... water got past the seals and made it inside the unit damaging the electronics.

I've seen it happen, though unlikely, it is always a possibility.
